The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed that there was no Looking Around the League last week, and that was because I completely forgot about it! You may think this is the beginnings of an apology, but that’s not the case. I regret nothing, and I apologise to no-one. You spent all last week staggering around in a daze, completely clueless about what happened in the Bundesliga last week? Who cares. Not my problem. Tell it to earth.

Get a load of these cowards:

Anyway, here are the results from matchday 13:

SV Darmstadt 0-1 FC Köln

VfL Bochum 3-1 Wolfsburg

Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-1 Hoffenheim

RB Leipzig 2-1 Heidenheim

VfB Stuttgart 2-0 Werder Bremen

Stuttgart Dismantle Werder Bremen

Just in time for their upcoming DFB-Pokal fixture against Borussia Dortmund, Stuttgart have their star striker, Sehrou Guirassy, back and firing.

This was Guirassy’s first game back in the starting lineup since picking up a hamstring injury, and him and Deniz Undav both got on the scoresheet. The final score was only 2-0, but in reality Stuttgart pounded Werder Bremen, and on another day it could have been many more. Stuttgart put up 3.45 xG to Werder’s 0.83.

Stuttgart struggled while Guirassy was out, losing to Hoffenheim and Heidenheim, but they were able to pick up wins against Union, Dortmund, and Frankfurt with Guirassy making cameos from the bench as he returned to full fitness. With their 16-goal striker (paired with the 8-goal Undav) back in the starting lineup, Stuttgart look as lethal as they did earlier in the season.

Your Thoughts?

Are Stuttgart going to finish above Borussia Dortmund this season? Lets hear some doomer views.
