Finishing top of their group meant that BVB were in Pot 1, and could be drawn against Copenhagen, Inter Milan, Lazio, Napoli, Porto, or PSV Eindhoven (they couldn’t be drawn against RB Leipzig or PSG). Of the possible teams Dortmund could be drawn against, fans will be pretty happy with getting PSV. There are no easy draws at this level, but avoiding the likes of Inter Milan and Napoli is good for BVB.
Peter Bosz’s side have been on fire so far this season, winning all 16 of their Eredivisie games, putting up a total of 55 goals for to just 6 against, and finishing 2nd in a Champions League group that included Arsenal, Lens, and Sevilla. Dortmund will be hoping they can put a dent in one of the most in-form sides in Europe right now.
