What a sporting weekend it’s been. We had the U.S. Open come to tense conclusions in both men’s and women’s singles, the beginning of the NFL season, the Italian Grand Prix in Formula 1, a pair of bonkers Subway Series games amid the 20th anniversary of 9/11, Donald Trump commentating a “boxing match”, and so much more. It’s fitting that in such a wild weekend, Borussia Dortmund’s game against Bayer Leverkusen was as dramatic and helter-skelter as possible, and the Borussia Dortmund Women made history by winning their first ever game in their team’s existence.
