Good Morning Fear The Wall

As we head into the final week of the summer transfer window, we’re starting to see the market become more and more chaotic.

It is looking increasingly likely that Cristiano Ronaldo will move to Manchester City, Real Madrid are preparing a new big for Kylian Mbappe, and Jules Kounde is set to join Chelsea. It seems likely there’s going to be a few twists and turns before the close of the window, and it doesn’t look like Borussia Dortmund are out of the market just yet either.

There are rumors coming out of Italy that Juventus and Roma are both interested in Axel Witsel.

Over the last week it has emerged that Juventus are very interested in Witsel. This would just be a renewal of interest by Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri, having tried to sign Witsel in his previous stint at the club. However, Juventus have to move Weston McKennie in order to make room for Witsel. Meanwhile, Roma have now joined the race, having failed in their pursuit of other options.

Witsel has been great for Borussia Dortmund, but he’s getting on a bit now, and he hasn’t got long left on his contract, so this may just be seen as an opportunity to cash in on an ageing star.
