Good morning, everyone. I hope you enjoyed your weekend.

Thomas Delaney to Leave Borussia Dortmund?

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, that’s the way it looks. BVB have plenty of depth in midfield between Jude Bellingham, Axel Witsel, Emre Can and Mahmoud Dahoud, so the bone-crunching midfielder Thomas Delaney has found himself in a situation in which he is the odd man out. The Danish midfielder is reportedly interested in moving to the English Premier League. According to Ronan Murphy of Goal.com, teams that could be interested include Crystal Palace, Norwich, and Southampton.

USA Wins the Gold Cup

The United States has won its second “major” tournament of the summer, the CONCACAF Gold Cup. Despite playing without two of their best players, Christian Pulisic and Gio Reyna, the U.S. managed to hang on against archrivals Mexico until extra time, when Miles Robinson’s header off a free kick pushed the Americans in front.

USA Women out of the Olympics

The U.S. Women’s National Team was less successful this weekend, falling out of the Olympics against Canada in the semifinal. While the U.S. will still have a chance to play in the Bronze Medal game, Canada will face the winner of today’s match between Australia and Sweden.

Canada took the lead in the second half with the following penalty call. Apparently there is some controversy surrounding the call, but it looks like a clear penalty to me. Tierna Davidson (not Rose Lavelle, as the below tweet mistakenly says) got cut off and her attempt to clear the ball whacked Deanne Ross in the leg.
