Good morning, everyone. Happy Friday.
Liverpool Interested in Signing Donyell Malen
For a while, it looked like Donyell Malen’s transfer to Borussia Dortmund was going to happen relatively unimpeded. Unfortunately, things are rarely ever easy in the transfer market, and now it looks like BVB might have competition from Liverpool FC. While I was a bit concerned when I first heard the story, I was a bit more relieved when I read the Liverpool Offside’s take on the story, in which they argued that the move was unlikely because of Fenway Sports Group’s general unwillingness to negotiate with Mino Raiola, Donyell Malen’s agent.
Of course, it’s still possible that other EPL teams like Chelsea could swoop in for Malen, but for now I don’t think we have to worry about Liverpool.
BVB Have “Higher Expectations” of Thomas Meunier
Here’s an interesting article in RN (can’t recommend a subscription enough, btw) about Thomas Meunier. It’s no secret that the right back had a disappointing season with Borussia Dortmund last season, so it’s also no shock that Sporting Director Michael Zorc expects much better of him.
The Daily Buzz
Does Thomas Meunier have it in him to turn his season around?
