Good morning, everyone.
Preseason excitement is slowly beginning to creep in. What got me most excited this weekend was seeing Donyell Malen, whose will-he or won’t-he transfer saga seemed almost endless, finally in BVB kit in training with his future teammates.

Update: Es gibt eine offizielle Trainingserlaubnis von @PSV. Es gibt noch letzte Details zwischen dem Spieler und PSV zu klären, erst danach können wir den Transfer final vermelden. pic.twitter.com/ATO8t04BPQ
While the training still ‘technically’ isn’t official, it’s formal in all but name, as PSV Eindhoven have already given Malen permission to train with BVB. He joined them in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, and Marco Rose now knows he can begin using him in his team plans.
BVB Frauen Begin Training
The much-awaited Borussia Dortmund women’s team has had its first official training session. After holding tryouts drawing women from around North-Rhine Westphalia. the club has selected its preliminary squad and will begin training to compete in the district level. The team’s first friendly will be on August 8th, against 1860 Munich.

We at Fear the Wall are still considering how much we will cover the women’s team, because they’ll almost certainly be far better than any team they play at their current level, and the games may not be easily viewable, but we’ll certainly try to give them as much coverage as we reasonably can.
One last thing: thank you to Paul and the rest of the Fear the Wall crew for covering this weekend’s news stories while I was on a much-needed and all-too-brief vacation.
The Daily Buzz
There’s been a lot of talk that Rose will play up top with Haaland. Do you agree with this?
