Good morning, everyone. Thank you Paul for taking over the Daily Bee on short notice yesterday.

Manuel Akanji Bodies the Entire Nation of France

In our first true, undeniable upset win of EURO 2020, tiny Switzerland have knocked France out of the Round of 16. It wasn’t exactly a defensive masterclass, as the French managed to score three times in the second half to force extra time, but Manuel Akanji and his Swiss defenders teammates went toe-to-toe with France, coming back from a 3-1 victory to force extra time before winning on penalties.

(Hint: Skip to 8:46 to see Akanji completely undress Hugo Lloris on a penalty)

Switzerland’s route to the final won’t get any easier - they’ll have to beat Spain, who routed Croatia 5-3, next.

BVB Targeting Noni Madueke

With Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United closing in on a deal for Jadon Sancho, BVB will need a replacement to help out on offense. While a few different names have been thrown around the rumor mill, with Donyell Malen probably being the most frequent one, PSV Eindhoven’s Noni Madueke has now emerged as a key target of BVB’s pursuit. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Dortmund could acquire the English youngster for around €20 million. This would be a decent price for a winger who, at the age of 19, has already established himself in the Dutch league.
