The Daily Bee: TOR-gan Hazard Strikes Again, and Adios Sergio Ramos

Good morning, everyone.

I’ve thought about it long and hard, ladies and gentlemen, and I think I’ve got a BRILLIANT idea. Borussia Dortmund’s problems at right back are well known. But for whatever reason, Thomas Meunier is a completely different animal when playing for Belgium than when he plays for Borussia Dortmund. I’ll admit that I haven’t watched enough of the Belgian National Team to give you a concrete answer why.

The answer to BVB’s problems, therefore, is to sign absolutely every Belgian player we can find until Meunier ascends to god-tier right back status. According to Transfermarkt, the entire Belgian National Team is valued at around €670 million. I figure we can get at least €200 million for Thomas Delaney, and Mahmoud Dahoud for Kevin De Bruyne seems like a pretty fair like-for-like swap to me, so that takes a big chunk out of the transfer fees we’d owe. We’d obviously have to sell Haaland and Sancho because as good as they are, neither of them are Belgian. That should basically get us the rest of the way there! It may seem like a lot of steps, but hey, until BVB find a new right back, don’t blame me for trying to come up with alternatives.

Speaking of Belgium:

Tor-gan Hazard

Thorgan Hazard of Belgium became the third Borussia Dortmund player to grab a goal during the EUROs, finishing off a brilliant team goal that started with a good run from Romelu Lukaku, followed by a great pass by Kevin De Bruyne. This goal was the first in a two-goal comeback that saw Belgium overtake an early Danish lead to secure their second win of the tournament.

Sergio Ramos Leaves Real Madrid

This is pretty shocking. After what felt like months of negotiations that ultimately never led anywhere, Sergio Ramos has officially left Real Madrid. He’s now free to sign wherever he chooses.

Where do you think Ramos will end up?
