Good Morning Fear The Wall
Leonardo Balerdi has completed his move from Borussia Dortmund to Marseille, for a reported fee of €11m (plus add-ons). Balerdi spent last season on loan in the south of France, and both the player and his club were keen to make the move permanent.

BVB had negotiated a fee of €15m with Marseille, when the loan was first agreed, but the price was a little steep for Marseille, in part due to the financial difficulties French football is currently suffering. I think it makes sense to negotiate a sensible compromise in this situation. Balerdi wants out, BVB are not fussed about keeping him, and Marseille want him but can’t afford the fee. Problem solved.
Best of luck Leo. He may not have lit things up while at BVB, but hopefully he has a solid career from here on out.
Scotland Suffer Defeat in Opener and Spain Held to a Draw
There were three fun games in the Euros yesterday, with some great goals and some upsets. Patrick Schick ruined Scotland’s party with this wild goal yesterday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski was unable to help Poland as they lost 2-1 against Slovakia, thanks to a Szczesny own goal in the first half, a Krychowiak sending off, and a Skriniar winner midway through the second half. The final game of the day also brought a bit of a shock, with Spain being held to a 0-0 draw against Sweden.
There are only two games today, but they should be good ones! Portugal are up against Hungary, before the best fixture of the opening round, France vs Germany. Exciting stuff.
