Welcome to Fear The Wall’s weekly update on the kids. This will include updates to Borussia Dortmund’s U17, U19, and U23 teams (but really only U23 at this time). If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments.
Borussia Dortmund II (U23)
Regionalliga West
The U23 continued their race towards promotion against VfB Homberg on May 29th. The game was hosted at Rote Erde and was the first game where 500 fans were allowed back in. Steffen Tigges captained the team again:

Moritz Broschinski, Taylan Duman, Maximilian Hippe, and Lennard Maloney remain out injured.
Homberg got off to a 2-0 lead thanks in part to an own goal from Kolbeinn Birgir Finnsson (38’). Patrick Osterhage was subbed off at the half for Dominik Wanner. Homberg got their second goal in the 52nd minute. Shortly after, Cebrails Makreckis was subbed on for Haymenn Bah-Traore (54’). Dominik Wanner got the U23s on the board in the 63rd minute, before Tobias Raschl tied it up at 2 (80’). The last sub for Enrico Maaßen’s side was Ansgar Knauff for Richmond Tachie (86’).
Franz Pfanne received a yellow card (70’).

Looking Ahead
Borussia Dortmund II
The final two Regionalliga games for Dortmund II lie ahead. On June 1st they host SV Bergisch Gladbach 09. Gladbach sits in 21st with 30 points (7W-9D-21L) and a -33 goal differential (30:63). They need any points they can get in the relegation fight.
The final game will be at Wuppertaler SV on June 5th. They are in 11th place with 54 points (16W-6D-17L) and a goal differential of -4 (56:60).
Dortmund II remains second place with 86 points (25W-11D-1L) and a +60 goal differential (87:27). They are one point back from Rot-Weiss Essen with one game in hand.
The unbeaten streak holds strong at 25 games.
