Good morbing!
Hehe, get it?
¡Vamos, Paco!
In a world where the Champions League is dominated by soulless rich clubs and the Europa League is dominated by... more soulless rich clubs, there is one shining light in the otherwise bleak and dreary night sky: Paco Alcacer. Sure, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also a BVB alum, but with the way he agitated for a transfer away, I much prefer Paco.
Luckily for our second-favorite Spaniard (Bartra is still #1 in mi corazón), he’s going to have a chance to win a big trophy with Villareal. Thanks to their 0-0 draw against Arsenal yesterday, led by former Arsenal manager Unai Emery no less, Villareal have clinched a trip to Gdansk for the Europa League final. The Yellow Submarine, as they are affectionately called, only needed to draw thanks to a 2-1 win last week in Spain, while Arsenal only needed a single goal and a clean sheet to advance. This made the game tight and very defensive. While Aubameyang struck the post twice, neither he nor any other Gunner could find the net, and when the final whistle sounded through the empty Emirates Stadium, Unai Emery and his squad were jubilant.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m definitely going to be rooting for Villareal in the Europa League final. They’re going to face Manchester United, who have been very good this season, having handily dispatched Roma in the other semifinal tie. They’ll be underdogs for sure, but it’ll be great to see them win.
Felix Passlack Renews Contract
The front office got a bit of depth work done yesterday. BVB and Felix Passlack have agreed to a one-year contract extension for the academy-raised right back.

Even in a year in which BVB have had such a drought of talent at right back, Felix Passlack has struggled to break into the squad. At 22, he probably doesn’t have much room for further development, so he likely won’t rise above a depth role for BVB... but it does hep to have a local lad around.
