According to Ruhr Nachrichten, both Erling Haaland and Gio Reyna will be fit and ready to go this weekend in a make-or-break home game against RB Leipzig. Erling Haaland was notably absent from the DFB Pokal game against Hostein Kiel, with the club reporting after the lineup was released that the Norwegian was sidelined with muscular issues.
Erling Haaland is not in today's squad as a result of a slight muscular problem. Get well soon, Erl!— Borussia Dortmund (@BlackYellow) May 1, 2021
Fortunately the injury was indeed slight, and he will be back in action.
Gio Reyna was exceptional in the game against Holstein Kiel, notching two goals before making way for Julian Brandt at the half. It was questionable if the American had picked up a knock of his own, but he will also be ready to go for the weekend, and looking to continue his fine run of form.
Dortmund will need all of their attackers at their sharpest going into the season run-in. The return of Jadon Sancho and the resurgence of Gio Reyna should cause massive headaches for Die Schwarzgelben’s final opponents, and it should be a thrilling finish to the season with silverware on the line.
