It seems that Borussia Dortmund have beaten Eintracht Frankfurt, again. While we know that Die Schwarzgelben have pipped Frankfurt to a Champions League finish, it appears that Dortmund have also beaten Eintracht in the transfer market by holding on to Edin Terzic, for now. Bild is reporting that Terzic, the interim Dortmund coach, has turned down an offer to be the main man at Frankfurt next season. This will leave Die Adler scrambling once again; as if it wasn’t bad enough that they lost out on UCL for next season after having a commanding lead, they now have seemingly lost out on their first choice replacement. Adi Hutter, the current Frankfurt coach is surprisingly set to replace Marco Rose at Borussia Mönchengladbach, who is heading to the Westfalenstadion to take charge of BVB next season.

While it may appear that Edin Terzic will be sticking around to be Rose’s assistant at Dortmund, it may be that he’s weighing his options. Bild is also reporting serious interest from three Premier League clubs for Terzic’s services, so it’s possible that he is still considering leaving BVB. A move to England would not be unprecedented, as Terzic spent two seasons as an assistant to Slaven Bilic at West Ham United.
Given that he has guided Dortmund to a DFB-Pokal victory, secured Champions League, dealt with fixture congestion, and a vast array of injuries all while taking the reins from the sacked Lucien Favre, Terzic is now one of the hottest names doing the rounds in the coaching carousel. Perhaps Dortmund will be able to thwart the advances of other clubs and keep hold of their young coach as a promised successor to Rose in the near future. However, it may not be easy for Terzic to resist the offers that the riches of the English Premier League can promise.
