Good Afternoon/Evening (it’s 6pm here, I can’t be pretending it’s morning) Fear The Wall!

Mats Hummels has played almost 95% of the available Bundesliga fixtures since rejoining Borussia Dortmund in 2019. Despite getting a little long in the tooth, at 32, he is still a top defender, and still of real value to the BVB squad. So it’s perhaps no surprise that there have been talks of contract extensions.

Hummels’ contract is up in 2022, but it can be extended for one year if he chooses. Hummels states that he will only do so if he feels like he is still physically fit. Credit to Hummels if he sticks to this. If someone offered my slow ass a load of money to sit on the bench for one year longer before my retirement, I don’t suppose I’d be contemplating whether I am actually fit for purpose.

Manchester United & Liverpool to Compete for Sancho

Rumors surrounding Jadon Sancho have been a little quiet this season, despite the long, protracted stand-off than BVB & Manchester United went through last summer, but he has had another quality season, and English clubs are sniffing around again.

The assumption has long been that Manchester United would be back in for Sancho in the summer, but Jan-Aage Fjortoft is reporting that Liverpool plan to join the race.

I would love to keep Sancho for another season, perhaps even more so than Haaland, but if Liverpool and Man Utd are battling it out for him, BVB could potentially get a huge sum of money.

Sipping on that Delicious Lacroix News

One of the more concrete rumors linking BVB to reinforcements this summer has been those surrounding Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix. Sky is reporting that Lacroix has rejected two contract offers from Wolfsburg, and he has previously stated that interest from Borussia Dortmund would be “something special”. It’s looking for and more like he could be tempted away in the summer.

The Daily Buzz

If Haaland is fully fit, would you start him? Or would you stick with the lineup that beat RB Leipzig at the weekend?
