Good Morning folks!
Bild is reporting that the first addition to Marco Rose’s squad has been finalized, with a move to bolster Borussia Dortmund’s defensive line by bringing in 17 year old French prospect, Soumaila Coulibaly. The report (both paywalled and giving nothing away in the preview) states that Soumaila Coulibaly will leave PSG in the summer to join BVB on a free.
Obviously there is good reason to be suspicious of any Bild report that hasn’t been confirmed by more reliable sources, but this is a move that has been in the works for a couple weeks now, and the likes of RMC Sport and Ruhr Nachrichten have already said the deal was close.
Soumaila Coulibaly to Borussia Dortmund this summer is a done deal.

This could be a real steal for Borussia Dortmund. Coulibaly is really highly thought of in France, and the expectation is that he will come join the senior team right away. Unfortunately he recently tore his ACL, so there will be question marks about his recovery, and what this will mean for his future, but it seems like a pretty low-risk, high-reward move to sign a highly touted prospect.
Frank Kramer Appointed as the new Arminia Bielefeld Head Coach
Arminia Bielefeld took the weekend’s 3-0 loss a little harder than expected, making the shock move to sack Uwe Neuhaus on Monday. Neuhaus seemed to be doing pretty well, and he had steered the newly promoted side to 16th in the Bundesliga, with a game in hand. It looked as though he had given Bielefeld the best possible shot at staying up this season.
However, they have already lined up Neuhaus’s replacement, appointing the former RB Salzburg academy manager, Frank Kramer. Kramer, 48, has signed a deal to lead the club until 2023. If he is to keep Arminia Bielefeld in the Bundesliga, he will need to hit the ground running, with the West German side facing Union Berlin, Werder Bremen, Bayer Leverkusen, and RB Leipzig in their next four games. It remains to be seen whether this will prove to be a masterstroke, or a desperate error.
Happy Birthday Mateu Morey!
Borussia Dortmund’s little Spanish right back is all grown up, turning 21 today! At Morey’s big old age, he will soon be considered an experienced head in this squad.
Happy Birthday to our guy, @mateujaume2!
