Good Morning Fear The Wall

I’m sure the fallout from Der Klassiker is going to drag out over the next week or more, but for now let’s take this opportunity to talk about something a little more fun: TRANSFER RUMORS!

Sky Sports are reporting that Karim Adeyemi has turned down Barcelona, and he is getting closer to agreeing a deal to join Borussia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund have seemed like the front-runners in the race for Adeyemi’s signature for a little while now, but several challengers have been sniffing around too. Despite Barcelona’s financial troubles and the general mess they find themselves in, they still have a ton of pull, so their interest in Adeyemi had the potential to derail BVB’s pursuit of the 19-year old German striker. It seems increasingly likely that Adeyemi is headed to the Westfalenstadion, and hopefully it will be confirmed soon.

BVB in Talks With Denis Zakaria

Not only are BVB closing in on Adeyemi, they are also making progress in their pursuit of Denis Zakaria.

I think adding Adeyemi and Zakaria to this squad would be a huge boost. Zakaria would offer a ton of cover for the defense, and give the rest of the midfield a bit of license to get forward, and Adeyemi would hopefully offer a significant goal threat to take the load off Haaland.

Of course, we don’t know that Haaland will be around long enough to share the field with Adeyemi. But we can dream!
