I’m sure you have all been awaiting my triumphant return from the death grip of Covid, and here I am, better (slightly worse) than ever! Thanks to Sean for filling in and covering the DB for the whole week. I know how much he (and I) love writing the DB, so I’m sure it was an entirely painless experience that didn’t ruin every single day he had to do it. I am one of just 9 million Londoners struck by Covid in the last week, so I’m a very unique case. I feel totally fine and the chest pains are probably nothing. Onwards to victory (stories about football)!

So as the Hinrunde winds down, there’s nothing left but transfer rumors to talk about. The good news is that BVB’s tumultuous end to the first half of the season means there’s plenty of obvious holes in the first team for the media to speculate about.

Everyone Reporting Zakaria to BVB

The most concrete of those rumors surrounds Borussia Dortmund’s pursuit of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.

There are various reports linking Zakaria to a move to BVB, whether it be in January or over the summer. It seems like the Karim Adeyemi and Zakaria moves are now highly likely to happen at some point.

However, if they are to make any moves, they will need to shift some of the deadwood first. Namely, Reinier, Roman Burki, and Axel Witsel.

Lots of Weird Rumors Too

You’re not satiated by the possibility of Zakaria and Adeyemi? Well, how about the Benfica winger, Everton? I don’t know, apparently that’s a thing. Borussia Dortmund are also rumored to be interested in Barcelona’s Yusuf Demir, and they were offered Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech too.

I imagine most, if not all of these rumors are nonsense. When there’s no games to talk about, everyone gets a little silly.
