Good Morning Fear The Wall
A few weeks ago there was speculation by BILD about Borussia Dortmund coach Marco Rose being under some pressure. One of the claims made was that, should BVB fail to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League, Marco Rose’s position may be under consideration. Sure enough, BVB were knocked out of the Champions League, so that raised the question of whether BILD’s claims about Rose would now come to pass. Watzke has now come out publicly and rubbished those reports.
Hans-Joachim Watzke:

"You can certainly say that Marco Rose is a really great fit for the club - you can just tell. And quite honestly, we don't have to let the stupid elimination in the #UCL distort our overall view."

This is great news. It always seemed like the reports were probably nonsense, in part because it was coming from an ever unreliable tabloid, but also because it would be incredibly rash to fire Marco Rose considering the job he has done so far. Despite a whole host of injuries in the first half of the season, BVB are currently sat in second place just one point behind Bayern Munich. That’s a great start! While the elimination from the Champions League was obviously disappointing, it has to be understood in the context of the injury crisis facing the club. It is just bad luck.
The Daily Buzz
Watzke says that the goal, assuming that BVB are healthier in the second half of the season, is to reach the Europa League final. Do you think they can do it?
