Man of the Match Poll: Borussia Dortmund Gifts Hertha Berlin Three Points

Frohe Weihnachten Hertha Fans!

Borussia Dortmund’s match against Hertha Berlin felt like being trapped at a While Elephant party. Maybe it’s the eggnog talking, but should one really be surprised that 2nd place Dortmund lost to 15th place Hertha? I think I can speak for all BVB fans when I say that we didn’t want a lot for Christmas...all we wanted was a win to close out the year!

Alas, BVB’s Christmas goose was cooked leaving options for Man of the Match to resemble a Christmas tree lot on Christmas Eve: slim, barren, picked over.

Read on for today’s nominations.

Thomas Meunier

His story this season is a bit like Rudolph’s. Everyone used to laugh at him, but now he is a BVB darling and that was true today as well. He provided consistent, quality play.

Julian Brandt

Brandt continues to show fine form and that was evidenced by his blitz of a goal to get BVB on the score sheet.

Raphaël Guerreiro

Rapha arrived late to the party and like a king, he provided the assist to Tigges which perfectly demonstrated that the meaning of Christmas is not just about receiving, it’s about giving too.

Stefan Tigges

It was a mad dash towards the end of the match and, like a last minute shopper, Tigges was able to net a goal giving BVB fans hope that our Christmas wish would come true.

There’s our list...we’ve checked it twice, now who will be the final MOTM for 2021?
