Good morning, everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend, the result of Saturday’s game aside.
Felix Zwayer will not referee BVB games for the time being
According to Ruhr Nachrichten, referee Felix Zwayer, whose controversial decisions during Der Klassiker earned him the ire of Dortmund’s players and fans alike, will not be refereeing BVB games for the foreseeable future. This is according to the DFB’s chief referee Lutz Michael Fröhlich.
Regardless of whether the criticism of Zwayer is warranted, this move is probably for the best. It’s clear that Dortmund’s players and coaching staff don’t have any respect for Zwayer. For the league to have integrity, players have to trust that their referees will have unbiased opinions, and having Zwayer stay away from BVB games would avoid any future unnecessary controversies.
Joshua Kimmich’s research has concluded
Well, it looks like Joshua Kimmich will be getting the COVID vaccine after all. I suppose after actually contracting the disease, missing over a month, and suffering from “lung infiltration”, his worries about the shot have been swayed. You’d think the multiple million deaths around the world and millions more suffering from respiratory or vascular damage would have been enough, but instead it took until the consequences impacted him personally. It seems there’s a lot of that going around these days.
Champions League Shenanigans
I was going to post the results of the Champions League draw here, but instead this happened:
As a result of this, the draw has been declared void and will be entirely redone at 1500 CET.— UEFA (@UEFA) December 13, 2021
I suppose this is good for UEFA’s transparency, right? They publicly made an error, so they are redoing the draw. It should now take place in an hour.
The Daily Buzz
Do you agree with the decision to bar Zwayer from reffing BVB games?
