Good Morning Fear The Wall

Some good news on the injury crisis: Rapha Guerreiro is on his way back! Kicker reports that Guerreiro returned to team training on Monday.

Borussia Dortmund have been without their star left back since early October, when he picked up a muscle injury while on international duty with Portugal. It would be huge for BVB to get Guerreiro back.

At this point, there are a small handful of players that you could argue are more indispensable than him. Haaland and Kobel are probably BVB’s most important players (though Hitz is at least a reasonable stand-in), followed by Jude Bellingham, on current form, but I’d argue Guerreiro is at least on Bellingham’s level.

It’s not totally clear when Guerreiro will be ready to return to the starting lineup, but Kicker do at least suggest it is a possibility that he is back for the Stuttgart game, in some capacity. The sooner he returns the better!

BVB Interested in Denis Zakaria

According to Patrick Berger of SPORT1, Borussia Dortmund are interested in Denis Zakaria, and there is some suggestion that the player might be looking to leave Borussia Monchengladbach.

Given Axel Witsel’s struggles this season, Zakaria looks like the kind of guy that BVB are in desperate need of adding to the squad. It would be great news if they could make it happen.
