Good morning, everyone.
The COVID pandemic is not over, and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. While cases in the United States have decreased from their recent spike in September, across the pond in Germany, positive tests are at record highs.

All Borussia Dortmund players either have been vaccinated or have antibodies from a prior infection, but as we’re increasingly seeing, that doesn’t 100% guarantee the ability to avoid infections. BVB forward Thorgan Hazard has tested positive for COVID. Thankfully he’s vaccinated, so hopefully he doesn’t experience any serious symptoms and is less likely to transmit the virus to other people.
Dortmund‘s Thorgan Hazard has tested Covid positive. He‘ll miss the CL game against Sporting. Per BVB, Hazard is fully vaccinated & every member of the Dortmund squad/staff is either fully vaxxed or fully recovered. Since the positive test, he has had no contact with the team.

This is definitely a big blow to the squad. Hazard is now going to miss at least two matches, will have to undergo a two-week quarantine, or alternatively because he’s vaccinated, he can return to training with a negative PCR test after a minimum of five days. Thankfully, it doesn’t yet appear that he’s transmitted the virus to any other players, as he hasn’t had any contact with them since BVB’s match on Saturday.

With Hazard out of the squad, how should BVB line up against Sporting on Wednesday?
