The Daily Bee: Donyell Malen Suffers “Stomach Infection”, Because Why Not

And Wolfsburg have found a new coach to replace Mark Van Bommel.

Good morning, Fear the Wall.

Borussia Dortmund won yesterday! Hurray! Even with half the squad out, BVB managed to look comfortable while brushing aside FC Ingolstadt. You guys may have noticed that Donyell Malen, Dortmund’s newest arrival who is deep in a goal drought, didn’t feature for Marco Rose’s squad. That’s because, according to Marco Rose’s rather crude description, Malen had a “stomach infection.”

Now this probably isn’t anything serious, and hopefully a few bottles of ginger ale will have Malen feeling like new, but I still think it’s incredibly funny. With all the injuries that BVB have suffered over the past month, a case of the runs just seems like adding insult to injury. I wonder what bus station kebab place Malen went to that got him this sick.

Florian Kohfeldt Signs With Wolfsburg

A few days after firing manager Mark Van Bommel, VFL Wolfsburg have brought former Werder Bremen manager Florian Kohfeldt back to the Bundesliga. With Bremen, Kohfeldt was considered a talented manager who more or less did everything he could to keep that club in the Bundesliga. Hopefully he can bring some of that success to Wolfsburg. He’s never had this much talent in a squad before.

Do you think signing Kohfeld is the right decision for Wolfsburg?
