The Daily Bee: Some Big Wins (and Losses) in the Champions League

Several teams found themselves on the wrong end of losses equally bad or worse than Dortmund’s 4-0 loss to Ajax. That must make you feel better, right?

Good Morning Fear The Wall

The third round of the Champions League group stages has run its course, and thankfully Borussia Dortmund were not on the end of the worst defeat in the last couple days. In fact, the real laughing stock this week is Shakhtar Donetsk! Look at those idiots, losing 5-0 to Real Madrid. How embarrassing. At least we only lost 4-0. We can hold our heads high, safe in the knowledge that we’re not the worst team this week.

Anyway, here’s the results from this week’s Champions League games:

Besiktas 1-4 Sporting Lisbon

Club Brugge 1-5 Man City

Shakhtar Donetsk 0-5 Real Madrid

PSG 3-2 RB Leipzig

Atletico Madrid 2-3 Liverpool

Inter Milan 3-1 Sheriff

Ajax 4-0 Borussia Dortmund

Porto 1-0 AC Milan

RB Salzburg 3-1 Wolfsburg

Barcelona 1-0 Dynamo Kyiv

Lille 0-0 Sevilla

Man United 3-2 Atalanta

Zenit St Petersburg 0-1 Juventus

Benfica 0-4 Bayern Munich

Chelsea 4-0 Malmo

Young Boys 1-4 Villarreal

Germany’s representatives, on the whole, did not have a great time. Sure, Bayern Munich won 4-0, but are they really representing Germany? The rest lost, with Wolfsburg losing 3-1 to RB Salzburg and Leipzig losing 3-2 to PSG. No one covered themselves in glory.

Plenty More Apologies

A couple of the players took to Instagram to apologize for the team’s desperate performance on Tuesday. Mats Hummels, who already had plenty to say in post-match interviews, called the performance embarrassing (he’s not wrong), while Emre Can let it all out.

The Daily Buzz

Do you think we will see a positive reaction from the team at the weekend?
