The Daily Bee: The Other, Non-Awful Champions League Matches

Quick, a distraction!

Good morning, Fear the Wall. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

In all seriousness, if there’s one thing that makes me feel even slightly better about BVB’s horrific defeat at the hands of Ajax yesterday, it’s that RB Leipzig fans suffered what was probably an even more heartbreaking loss against Paris Saint-Germain. Despite leading the French giants 2-1 with 30 minutes remaining, quickly relinquished their lead to a pair of goals by none other than Lionel Messi. Also, Mbappé missed a penalty.

In another big match of the night, Liverpool faced Atletico Madrid, the club that eliminated them in the spring of 2020. Despite blowing a 2-0 lead, Liverpool managed to snatch a winner, with some additional late drama involving a VAR penalty review. At the end of the match, Atletico manager Diego Simeone seemed to neglect to shake Jurgen Klopp’s hand.

In the reverse fixtures of Dortmund’s group, Sporting brushed aside Besiktas to remain within touching distance of BVB in second place in Group C.

Man, I just can’t bring myself to care about any of these, can you?
