Borussia Dortmund have drawn SC Paderborn in the DFB Pokal Round of 16.
Currently sitting at 12th place in the 2. Bundesliga, Paderborn is one of the easier opponents that Borussia Dortmund could have drawn, but that doesn’t mean they should be taken lightly. They’ve already knocked out one Bundesliga contender, having defeated Union Berlin 3-2 in the second round in December.
Of the remaining matches, there aren’t any significant head-to-head matches between clubs that are considered favorites to win the trophy. Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen still have to face each other in the second round, and whoever wins will face Rot-Weiss Essen. Bayern Munich will also have to beat Holstein Kiel before facing Darmstadt. There are only two matchups featuring two Bundesliga clubs. Schalke, who can’t seem to catch a break, drew Wolfsburg, while Stuttgart drew Borussia Mönchengladbach.
