...and today Marca confirms that the deal with Real Madrid is set to be completed. He’s joining as a free agent next summer. https://t.co/LITUivZexn
Alaba, who joined Bayern in 2009 and has played for the senior team since 2010, turned down moves to Liverpool and PSG to make his dream move to Real Madrid, according to a Guardian report.
If you had to point to a moment where contract talks stalled and he wanted to move, read a November interview with him from Goal. He stated that Bayern suggested that he be a part of a player swap with Manchester City for Leroy Sane, which Alaba called a slap in the face. And I can totally understand that. When you’ve been a part of an organization for a decade and are one of the top performers or a crucial part of that organization, to be treated that way comes off as very disrespectful. Yes, he’s getting up there in age, but he’s still a very good defensive player at any position.
I’m still going to boo him while he’s in that Bayern red, but I wish him nothing but the best as he makes his dream move.
‘Ted Lasso’ Season 2 Production Underway

If you haven’t watched the show, do so. It’s a work-place comedy from the same guy that created shows like Scrubs and Cougar Town that takes place in a failing English Premier League club that [Spoiler warning] ends up being relegated in the season finale. But it’s also one of the most heartwarming and genuinely positive shows of the year, making you care about the characters and everything they experience.
