Gio Reyna to Miss Tomorrow’s Match Against Bayer Leverkusen
According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Gio Reyna is still suffering from a throat infection, the same infection that kept him out of Saturday’s match against Mainz.

Gio Reyna has been one of the better BVB forward this season, and his absence was noticeable on Saturday, especially in the second half when BVB only had Youssoufa Moukoko and Steffan Tigges as attacking options on the bench. It’s unclear what the timetable is for Gio Reyna’s return. I’d imagine that if it was COVID-19, that the club would have already announced it, so it could be something as simple as a tough cold. Hopefully it isn’t something like Mononucleosis, which could knock Reyna out for weeks.
Borussia Dortmund Sign Ajax Academy Product
According to the Dutch outlet Telegraaf (via sport.de), Borussia Dortmund have signed 15-year-old academy prospect Julian Rijkhoff from Ajax. BVB are reportedly set to sign the Dutch youngster to a three-year deal once he turns 16 on January 25th.
Rijkhoff is a center forward who has nine goals in only four appearances with the Ajax U-17s this season. That may not be as impressive as it seems, because I’m sure the Ajax youth teams routinely steamroll every team they face. Unless he manages to breeze through the BVB U-17s and U-19s, it will probably be a few years before we see Rijkhoff on the pitch.
