Hey everyone,

Brian Meyers here. Back in 2015 there wasn’t much fan focused content out there for English speaking BVB fans. Getting the games was a bother and clearly there wan not much money in it. When I asked Jeremiah Oshan about starting a fan site for BVB in 2015, he told me it’s something others had wanted to do but never stuck with it through the approval process. As a sophomore in college with plenty of free time I got a few friends together, went through SB Nation approval and by Jan 2016, FTW had launched! A lot has happened since then with the team and site. We’ve cycled through quite a few players, managers and writers over the past 4 years. Also we won a Pokal! Despite change this site as always felt like a great place for fans around the world to congregate. From the die-hards like TBG to the Pulisic hypebeasts the comments on our match threads and elsewhere have always been lively.

Now my time at the helm is at a end. I have felt burned out by non-site life responsibilities and hell world 2020 hasn’t made it any easier. It’s time for me to move on so the site can thrive in new and better ways. Our new managing editor is someone you all know if you’ve been a regular at the site, Sean Keyser. Sean has been at FTW since its inception, first as a commenter then writer. I am confident he will steward the site well.

I will still be writing every once in awhile and I’ll still be in the discord, so you haven’t seen the last of me. I would like to thank everyone who has come here to read and comment over the years. I would also like to thank the many contributors we have had since 2016, some of which have been here the whole way. I love this team and it has been a pleasure sharing that with all of you.
