Good morning, Fear the Wall.
The Bundesliga Begins!
Here we gooooooooooooooooooo!
Forget all the disappointments from last season: BVB letting a league lead slip away, Bayern winning the treble, and the Jadon Sancho transfer saga, because starting today, none of it matters. The Bundesliga is back, and BVB have a clean slate, ready to chase the Meisterschale once again. God, I love this time of year!
Ironically, the league we love the most is beginning with a match between two of the clubs we love the least. The league begins today when Schalke face reigning champions Bayern Munich at 2:45 EST. Schalke have had a rough summer, cutting wages and losing Weston McKennie, Daniel Caligiuri, and Alexander Nübel, among others.
Borussia Dortmund open their season tomorrow against Borussia Mönchengladbach, but there are several other matches worth noting. RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen, two other teams that are expecting to compete for the top four this season, will face Mainz and Wolfsburg respectively.
