- Dortmund games on the horizon!
The DFB has released the tentative schedule for the 2020-2021 Bundesliga season. While the dates may not be solid (Covid resurgence pending) we at least know what order we’ll be facing our opposition. Notably we will be starting our season vs BMG and finishing vs Bayer Leverkusen. Both these teams are some of our biggest competitors in the league. Leverkusen in particular will be interesting as the last game of the season. There is a very good chance that we are still competing with them on the last day of the season for placement. Also notable, we have a (hopefully) easy battle vs Arminia Bielefeld before our matche vs Bayern Munich.
Since this will be a late start due to last season ending late, our first match day will be the 9/20-9/21. The Hinrunde will stretch to through to January on 1/20-1/21. In addition to the Bundesliga dates we now know the Supercup will be played September 30th vs Bayern. I’m not particularly crazy about playing the Supercup during the season. It has always been a pre-season match that no one remembers, there is no reason to make our team any more tired.
We still don’t know what the champions league match weeks will be, hopefully BVB gets a good schedule with those included.
