Yesterday we got a great game of UCL football. Thomas Tuchel’s PSG took on underdogs Atalanta in a single leg bout. While it looked like the plucky Italian side would get the upset, PSG scored two late to secure their way through the tourney. Today we have another great game of Champions League as Atletico Madrid take on RB Leipzig. I’m sure many BVB fans will be tuning in to root against our Bundesliga rivals. I’m just hoping for another greet match. This rapid fire style for the UCL makes for some very fun football.
Sancho discussion will never end
So the English rags are still pushing theories about Sancho trying to force his way out. While I won’t share that silliness we do have a interesting Sancho tidbit from yesterday. After our 6-0 defeat of Altach in out first friendly of the year, Sancho had some interesting things to say in a presser. “[he] loves playing with these guys. It’s a special bunch. I’m really happy to be on the pitch with them and to lead them” Sancho said. That doesn't sound like a player who is forcing his way out or poising the locker room. Haaland added on that “This guy here has shown great character, if you understand what I mean. ”. Haaland has always tried to take the piss with the media so his “if you know what I mean” is definitely a fun little jab at the English papers.
How did we feel about our friendly yesterday? Bellingham certainly looks like he is fit to be a star.
