Good morning, Fear the Wall.
BVB Face Altach in First Friendly of the Summer
Forget the Champions League. The real match that the footballing world has its eyes on today is throwing down at 11 am EST, when Borussia Dortmund will play against against SC Rheindorf Altach of the Austrian Bundesliga. Altach finished 8th in the Austrian regular season, and got second place out of six in something called the relegation playoff. What the implications are for Altach’s next season are, I couldn’t tell you.
The stream should be available on BVB.TV on the club website. The stream will also be available on the club’s YouTube channel here, although sometimes it gets geo-locked depending on where you’re watching from.
Champions League Preview
Even though this match pales in comparison to the BVB-Altach match, I suppose we still have to cover it. Atalanta will play Paris Saint-Germain at 3 pm EST. Atalanta are coming in as clear underdogs, but if they win, it will be a massive update. I suspect that most BVB fans will be heavily in Atalanta’s favor. PSG were very poor sports following their victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Round of 16, so it would be very funny if they proceeded to lose to Atalanta, preferably in humiliating fashion. It would be proof that even in dark times like these, there’s such a thing as karma.

Man United 'eyeing up move for Barcelona flop Ousmane Dembele' as alternative to Jadon Sancho https://t.co/i0TEH49PSz
— MailOnline Sport (@MailSport) August 11, 2020
I mean, come on! After Borussia Dortmund spurned Manchester United’s many attempts to buy Jadon Sancho, some inside the English press are reporting that United may be going after Ousmane Dembélé in Sancho’s place. If this did happen, it would be truly epic, because not only would BVB get to keep Sancho, but they would also get €25 million in add-ons from Barcelona due to the terms of the transfer back in 2017. So it turns out that not only will Sancho keep BVB this summer, but we’re going to get money out of Manchester United’s desire for a star forward. Well done Zorc, well done.

Do BVB even have a chance against the mighty strength of Altach?
