This seems way out of left field.

Good morning Fear the Wall.

BVB Eyeing Depay as a Sancho Replacement?

So according to BILD, Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Memphis Depay, a Dutch former Manchester United forward who currently plays for Olympique Lyonnais. Depay has been pretty good for Lyon, and he may be interested in playing for a bigger club, but other than that, this transfer seems pretty far out of left field.

I’ve never seen any previous indication that BVB are interested in Depay, nor that Depay wants to leave Lyon, a team that he captains, and where he’s finally found success after struggling with Man United. If that weren’t enough, he’s just now coming off of a massive knee injury that he suffered way back in December. With this injury, It would be extremely risky for BVB to buy a player that would likely come with such a high cost.

So no, I don’t really believe it. I’m not saying it won’t happen, but I am saying that I would be very, very surprised if it did.
