The Daily Bee(June 30th 2020): Achraf Hakimi announces his departure from Borussia Dortmund

• We all knew this was coming

Its official, BVB have not won the race to retain Achraf Hakimi and his loan from Real Madrid will be over today. On twitter and Instagram Hakimi made a heartfelt goodbye to BVB, his teammates and the fans.

Over the course of his two year loan spell at BVB we saw Hakimi turn into a defensively uneasy and cocky fullback into a elite play maker on the wing that still can fulfill defensive duties. He set the Bundesliga record for fastest run speed this season and will probably set it in whatever league he finds himself playing in next. Overall he picked up 12 goals and 17 assists in his two years here, with plenty of hockey assists as well. He was never a drag or drama queen and the whole team seemed to get along with him. We will miss you Achraf! Good luck wherever you find yourself next!
