Good morning, Fear the Wall.

Borussia Dortmund win the Race for Jude Bellingham

According to ESPN’s Alex Shaw, Borussia Dortmund have won the race to sign Jude Bellingham from Birmingham City FC for €20 million euros. Bellingham won’t be able to sign for BVB until he turns 17 on June 29th, but the transfer is all but confirmed.

Bellingham has been one of the most coveted young players in all of Europe. The fact that he’s only 16 years old but has already been able to become a key player for an English Championship club means he’s already much further into his development than most players are at 16, and he still has much more time to grow. He can play all over midfield, whether in the center or on the wings.

Leroy Sané to join Bayern?

If you’ve been following this transfer saga at Bavarian Football Works like I have, then you know it’s just been going on and on for months on end. Now, it finally looks like it could be approaching a climax. According to Fabrizio Romano, Sané and Bayern have already reached personal terms, and now it’s just up to Manchester City and Bayern to work out the terms of the transfer.

In typical Bayern fashion, they’re playing hardball with Manchester City. They’ve tabled an offer of €40 million for Leroy Sané, an insultingly low number for a player of Sané’s caliber. If Manchester City don’t accept, Bayern are willing to wait until next season to get him on a free transfer. The fact that there isn’t another club out there trying to step in front of Bayern and sign him for more is somewhat shocking to me. I rate Sané very highly, and if I were running a top European club, I’d be willing to spend much more than €40 million.

With Thomas Meunier and Jude Bellingham coming to BVB, are there any other players out there you’d like to see Dortmund try to sign?
