Is Dortmund set to get another budding English star?

According to German magazine SZ, 16 year old Englishmen Jude Bellingham and his father made a commitment to join BVB before the COVID-19 lock down. Apparently BVB will pay 20 to 25 million euro for Bellingham. While that is a lot for a 16 year old, Jude is one of the most hyped youngsters in England at the moment. His transfer is definitely reminiscent of Jadon Sancho’s transfer a few years ago. Since both players have non professional contracts at that age, it is/was easier for BVB to sign them from England.

Bellingham currently plays as a midfielder for Birmingham City. Birmingham won’t be able to hold off offers for long with Bellingham as he could leave for free once his amateur contract is up so they don’t have a lot of bargaining power here.

Hopefully BVB can get this transfer to go through amidst the Corona landscape. Another good young player can only put the team in a better position to succeed next season.
