Not a very Merry Christmas for Tuchel

Good morning, Fear The Wall, and a very Happy Christmas Eve!

Thomas Tuchel Sacked

Today, former BVB boss Thomas Tuchel received what was surely the very heartbreaking news that he had been sacked by Paris S. And on Christmas Eve, no less!

Despite taking PSG to the Champions League finals last season and winning every French competition, PSG currently sit third in Ligue 1 and Tuchel appears to have lost the favor of stars Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. There was also the incident during the Champions League match against Istanbul Basaksehir where there was an incident of racism by an official against one of the Istanbul players, and Tuchel reportedly tried to downplay the incident. And now, even as PSG sit one point out of first in Ligue 1, he is out.

“But Nick, who will replace Tuchel on such short notice,” you may ask. Well, our loyal readers, there is only one man who can take over a club on such short notice... Sam Allardyce! Mauricio Pochettino!

Yep, the former Tottenham manager has been tapped to manage the French giants, and hopefully win some silverware and shed the label of a manager that couldn’t win a trophy. I remember saying to Sean Keyser on the latest Fear The Wall podcast that Poch had Manchester United written all over him if/when Ole gets the sack; I guess I was a tad off on that one.
