Terzic Saison is here! Edin Terzic is now 1 for 1 in his role as Borussia Dortmund manager (I’m not including the game he took the reigns a while back), as BVB beat Werder Bremen 2-1, with goals from Rapha Guerreiro and Marco Reus. A 100% record. Favre could never. A new era is born!

It wasn’t the comprehensive unshackling of BVB’s young stars that some might have hoped for, but a victory is a victory, and those three points will hopefully serve as the chance to right the ship, before performances improve.

With all of one day’s worth of Terzic training under their belt, it would have been unreasonable to expect a completely different approach to the game. The patient build up remained, but there was a more aggressive approach to pressing, which may become a more regular feature of Terzic’s Borussia. We also saw Terzic make some bold choices with his starting lineup, in particular starting Moukoko up front. Moukoko didn’t manage to get on the scoresheet, but he came close on three occasions, and just the fact that he was getting into those positions is a good sign. It won’t be long before those chances end up in the back of the net.

So a slightly uninspired victory over Werder Bremen, but the Terzic Train is pulling away from the station and gaining some speed. All aboard! Here’s some nominations for MOTM for your voting pleasure. Let us know who you thought was Terzic’s Talisman.
