The first round of the DFB-Pokal finally wrapped up last week, which means that it’s finally time for Borussia Dortmund to face their next opponent in the competition. The draw has taken place, and BVB have drawn Eintracht Braunschweig of the 2. Bundesliga.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking this will be easy. Even though Braunschweig are only in fourteenth-place in the 2. Bundesliga, they already have one upset under their belt. In the first round, way back in September, they defeated Hertha Berlin in a wild 5-4 victory.
There are a few other interesting matches to look out for. Bayern Munich have drawn Holstein Kiel, which should be pretty easy for them. The match with the most potential entertainment involves Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt, a pair of quality Bundesliga sides who could both conceivably go all the way to the final in the spring.
The dates for the second round matches haven’t been released yet, but we’ll let you know when they are.
