Borussia Dortmund have one of the brightest cores of young talent in all of football, and the world is starting to catch on. The Golden Boy is an annual award given by sports journalists to the player below 21 who has impressed the most, and this year, they’ve chosen to award it to BVB’s very own Erling Braut Haaland!

Does Erling Haaland deserve the award? Absolutely. He’s was a goal-scoring machine during the calendar year 2020, with 25 goals in 26 games across the Bundesliga and Champions League, not to mention his outstanding record in the Champions League. In addition to his stats, the way he single-handedly smashed PSG at the Westfalenstadion in the Champions League and got under their skins with his celebration must have helped propel him into the limelight.
The future for Borussia Dortmund is looking very bright, indeed. With a core of young stars like Jadon Sancho, who finished fourth in the vote total, Gio Reyna, Jude Bellingham, and Erling Haaland, we could potentially have a world-class squad for years to come, even if one or two players leave. For now, let’s just be happy that our players are some of the most promising in the entire world!
