Gio Reyna turned 18 just three days ago, on November 13. Today, he marked another milestone in his exciting young career: Reyna scored his first goal for the US Men’s National Team off of a lovely free kick in the US’s friendly against Panama. Check it out:

Standing just outside Panama’s penalty area, but inside the penalty arc, Reyna curled the ball around the wall of defenders on the right and somehow slotted it inside the post past the keeper. Not a bad way to open your scoring account with the national team!
Reyna started alongside several players whose names will be familiar to fans of the Bundesliga: Zack Steffen, who played at SC Freiburg (now at Manchester City), Tyler Adams of RB Leipzig, and Weston McKinnie formerly of Schalke 04 (and now at Juventus Turin). Bayern Munich youngster Chris Richards also celebrated his USMNT debut in the second half.

Reyna’s goal was just the first of a 6-2 drubbing by the Americans. He is the third-youngest goal-scorer for the US. His comrade in arms Erling Haaland was pleased:
