Good morning, Fear the Wall.
Jadon Sancho Starts on the Bench... and England Draw Blanks
England and Belgium, two favorites to win the entire Nations League competition, faced off at the King Power Stadium in Leicester yesterday. Although England outshot the Belgians by at a rate of 2-1, it was the Red Devils who won where it counted by the score of 2-0. The Belgians were able to grab a quick 2-0 lead after 25 minutes and coast to victory from there. Belgian’s first goal, a real belter from Youri Tielemans from outside the box, is worth catching:

As a Borussia Dortmund fan, I have a pretty obvious bias in favor of Jadon Sancho, especially over someone like Mason Mount, but I have to think that if Jadon Sancho had played the full 90 minutes against Belgium, England may have had a better chance to win. Then again, as a BVB fan who wants Sancho to stay rested and healthy, I’m not going to complain about Sancho starting on the bench.
Raphael Guerreiro Returns to Dortmund With an Injury
Speaking of injuries during international duty, Raphael Guerreiro has suffered a minor muscle strain while training with Portugal, and has returned to Dortmund early for treatment. Thankfully, according to Ruhr Nachrichten, Guerreiro’s injury isn’t serious, and he shouldn’t be expected to miss next weekend’s match between BVB and Hertha Berlin.

The last hypothetical was fun, so I’ll do another one: in a Hunger Games-style fight for survival in a giant forrest, which BVB player would make it to the end and become king of the hill?
