Good morning, Fear the Wall.
The international transfer deadline is today, which means we can finally put a rest to all of the transfer rumors that have been swirling around Borussia Dortmund for the past two months.
Jadon Sancho: Deal, or no Deal?
Ed Woodward and Manchester United are in desperate need of some positive news following their 6-1 shellacking at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, and it’s hard to think of a PR move that would help more than signing Jadon Sancho. BVB have always held firmly that all United need to do is meet their asking price of €120 million, but it seems clear at this point that Woodward is dead-set against spending that kind of money.
United have reportedly been linked with several other alternatives to Sancho including Ousmane Dembélé and Sevilla’s Lucas Ocampos, but it doesn’t seem that either of those will follow through. That means that United have less than 12 hours until the 6 pm EST deadline to make a move. Considering their performance against Spurs, you’d think that they might want to focus on signing a few defenders instead of wingers, but that’s none of my business.
BVB Chasing Todibo?
The Spanish outlet Rac1 is reporting that Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing FC Barcelona center back Jean-Clair Todibo. The 20-year-old Frenchman hasn’t broken into the senior squad, and in fact spend the second half of last season on loan with Schalke (!). Fulham and SC Porto are reportedly also chasing Todibo, so this move may fall through.
The Daily Buzz
How will you celebrate the deadline day ending so that we can forget about this nonsense? I’m gonna watch Jadon Sancho highlights on repeat for three hours.
