Its official Emre Can has joined BVB on a loan with mandatory purchase deal from Juventus. The transfer is reported to be worth €25 million euros.
Can Started his career as a youth player at Bayern Munich and transferred to Bayer Leverkusen in 2013. After just a year at Leverkusen he transferred to Liverpool where he earned much acclaim. Under Jurgen Klopp especially Can excelled as a holding midfielder. He went to Juve in 2018 where he played consistently in his first season. This season however he has had trouble getting time on the pitch.
Rumour has it that Can will slide in at center back since BVB are thin at the position. With Favre not having any confidence in Balerdi and Akanji’s form being horrific, or only decent CBs at the moment are Zagadou and Hummels. Since we sold Weigl this January, another player that played holding midfield and center back interchangeably, Can can foit well into Favres plans.
So what do we think about this transfer?
