With Haalands transfer it seemed to only be a matter of time before Paco Alcacer would be leaving BVB. The team has now officially announced the sale of Paco to La Liga side Villarreal. The fee is reported to be €22 million Euros.

Paco joined us on loan in summer of 2018 and was an instant hit, scoring 6 goals in his first three matches. As a sub he was super efficient and it felt like the scoring would never end. Unfortunately he was injured often and had trouble getting fit enough to play in the team. In total he made 46 appearances in the team in the season and a half he was with us. In those 46 games he scored a whopping 26 goals including 18 in his debut season.
While Paco leaving doesn’t feel great, he reportedly missed being with his family in Spain. This move will help him be at home more often, something no reasonable fan should want to deny him. Now that we have Haaland, BVB seem to be in safe hands. This transfer also apparently will fund the wage and fee for Emre Can from Juventus. Guess we’ll know by tomorrow!
Good Luck Paco!
