Reus made the statement today regarding future BVB transfers saying that he would love to bring Kai Havertz to Dortmund - considering his and new signing Julian Brandt’s relationship to the attacking midfielder.

The highly rated German international currently plays at Leverkusen under former BVB coach Peter Bosz, where he has been rumored to be in line for a move to Bayern München for the last several seasons. Havertz, of course, was known to have a very healthy relationship on and off the pitch with former Leverkusen teammate Julian Brandt, who made the move to BVB this past summer for a mere 25 million Euros, due to his release clause.
Such outspokenness by BVB players about transfers is unusual, as common procedure by the club has almost always been defaulting to club officials, Zorc and Watzke, and their reserved protocol when talking to the press.
Michael Zorc, BVB’s sporting director, quickly followed Reus’s statement by saying “Everyone involved would do well to concentrate on the current season”. BVB have only played three matches in the Bundesliga, a match day 1 trashing of Augsburg, followed by an unimpressive win against Köln, and an embarrassing loss against newly promoted side Union Berlin.
