Dortmund are losing one of their greats. Today BVB announced that Shinji Kagawa has joined Spanish Seguna League side Real Zaragoza. Shinji first joined BVB in 2010, playing wel in our championship season. In 2012 he moved to Manchester United in what many considered the end of his BVB career. Even if that was the end of his time in Dortmund, 21 goals in 49 games was a great result.

However his time at Man U was not great for him as a player and he returned in 2014. While his form was not as strong when he got back he still made some great contributions to the team. His aptness for clutch goals, think the 90+ minute beauty vs Wolfsburg, cemented him as a club legend.

In recent years his form had dipped. He spent last season on loan to Turkish side Bestikas where he failed to fit in well with the club. His departure comes off a summer where we all knew he wouldn’t have a shot at competing for the first team. Shinji is a competitor and its great to see we found him somewhere he can play first team football.

Good Luck Shinji!
