Patrik Schick has reportedly rejected a move to Newcastle United and prefers to join Borussia Dortmund. Newcastle United offered to loan the Roma striker for one season.
The young centre forward has been linked to BVB all summer long and would definitely be an interesting option for the black and yellows. However given Schick’s injury history a loan with an option to buy would be the best option for Dortmund.
Thorgan Hazard and Mats Hummels are back and ready to play against KFC Uerdingen in the DFB Cup on Friday. However coach Lucien Favre will still have to do without Julian Brandt and Roman Bürki, both won’t be ready to play in the first round of the Cup.
- Deadline day in the Premier League
The Bundesliga transfer window is still open until September 2nd but the Premier League will have their “Deadline Day” a bit earlier. The transfer window closes today for the English teams which means we’ll see plenty of moves and new rumors today, here are just a few:
Manchester City: The current champions have signed Joao Cancelo from Juventus for 65€ million. In return Juventus have signed Danilo from ManCity for 37€ million. Guardiola has an impressive set of fullbacks at his disposal now with Kyle Walker, Benjami Mendy and Oleksandr Zinchenko in addition to Cancelo.
Arsenal: The Gunners had already made headlines with the additions of Nicolas Pepe and Dani Ceballos, now they are reportedly also closing in on left back Kieran Tierney from Celtic and center back David Luiz from Chelsea.
Tottenham Hotspur: A lot of players have been linked to the Spurs in recent days. The biggest name is probably Paulo Dybala who has supposedly agreed to a deal with Tottenham but might now happen because of problems with his image rights. Another option could be Giovani Lo Celso who is supposedly already in London for his medical. Furthermore it looks like they will reinforce their fullback depth with Ryan Sessegnon from FC Fulham.
Manchester United: ManU’s biggest transfer today might be an exit, Romelu Lukaku will join Inter in the Serie A. There are no rumors just yet about a possible replacement but they need to be quick if they want to sign another player.
Surprisingly current Champions League winners Liverpool are not linked to any players. It looks like they will go through the entire transfer windoe without making a single sogning for the first team.
Even though the transfer window will close later today, outgoing transfer are still possible which means the Leroy Sané-transfer saga will continue for our friends over at BFW.
